Joy Denalane | Should Have Never feat. Bilal (Jake One remix)
Her 2006 album Born & Raised still has some of my favourite songs ever on. If you don’t know about the German singer-songwriter, then please get to know! The last time I heard Joy Denalane and Bilal on a project together was alongside Tweet and Dwele on the Dresden Soul Symphony album (they took a bunch of old Soul classics and performed them live backed by a huge orchestra)..
This track Should Have Never is from Denalane’s new album that dropped last week entitled Maureen and has been given the Jake One remix treatment.. It’s been soooo long since she’s released any new material so this has got me excited, and my next stop is Amazon to get the album in full.
