The Liverpool ONE Project

Our Northern neighbours have put together a little something to solidify their position on the map as a city that is harbouring some real urban talent.

“The Liverpool ONE Project is a 12 song LP put together by Liverpool-based Youth Culture Company, URBEATZ and label, Nothin But The Music and features some of the best artists, singers and producers from Liverpool. The LP cuts across most Urban Music sub genres – styles range from rap, grime, electro-urban to dnb and RnB.

Included in the project: Future, Vaposs, Jay Norton, Esco Williams, Joey Seary, Rugrat, Rasta Child, Janiece Myers, Paislie Reid, Sunny Italia, Tremz, Mr2Grime, Merki, Logik, Gez and ME Music. The producers included are Kev Willow, Adam French, Paris Esquire, Defiance, Product, Jay Norton and Future.”

I haven’t fully gotten into this yet but have skipped through it a couple times of times and have heard a lot of sounds that I really like. The title track Liverpool One is a strong starter with the unmistakeable Liverpudlian accent over a punchy beat and the unique vocals of Esco Williams (I think!).

I definitely commend the effort and it’s nice to see various people of a scene coming together to positively represent their ends.
